Animal Project
After the Science test on Wednesday, the students will be introduced to their animal project. It's a fantastic and fun opportunity for students to research an animal using the research and iPad skills they've been practicing all year. Even better, the entire project will be completed here at school!**
Ms. Raab and I will pick 40 animals from a predetermined list, place their names in a hat, and each student will be given an opportunity to pick one at random. For the next few weeks, we will take a break from our Science textbook and instead of focus on researching and learning about our animals. So no new Science information or tests for a while.....woohoo! We will complete the research and writing portions during our normally scheduled Science time.
After everyone has researched their animal, they will get a pennant to color and glue together where they can display all the information they've learned. Once all the pennants are assembled, students will be given a opportunity to show it off and share some of the cool things they learned. Afterwards these pennants will be hung around the room for everyone to enjoy.
**If a student misses a significant amount of days, they may be asked to answer a few questions or do some of the coloring at home in order to catch up and still finish with the rest of the class on time. This is uncommon, but I wanted to let you know so there are no surprises in case this rarity happens.
What We're Learning...
Math: metric units of mass (weight); converting metric units; review Ch. 9; test on Thursday, 3/5

Religion: Adam, Eve, and Original Sin; venial vs. mortal sins; sin destroys our relationship with God; Jesus died on the cross to save us from sin; through his Resurrection we have new life
